Measure D

What is Measure D?

In 2016, Santa Cruz County voters approved Measure D, a one-half cent sales tax that funds transportation projects for 30 years. A portion of the funding is managed and spent in Watsonville and cannot be taken away by the State for other projects. Each year, the City develops a five-year expenditure plan.

Sensory Play
Looking for interactive and engaging activities for your child? Join us for Sensory Play, each month will feature a different theme and new ways to stimulate your growing child’s senses. Activities may include: water play, kinetic sand, touch-and-see tables, slime, finger painting, instrument exploration, aromatic experiences, and new tastes. Audience: Children aged 1-5 and their caregivers.

✨ Free Sewing Classes ✨ Ready to unleash your creativity and learn a new skill? Whether you're a total beginner or an experienced sewer, our free sewing classes are for you. Join us for a fun, hands-on experience where you can: 🧵 Learn sewing basics – no experience required. 🧵 Build your skills – Pick the project that matches your skill level. 🧵 Meet new friends – all ages and backgrounds encouraged. 🧵 Bring your own projects – get help with what you want to create. This program will take place on the 2nd and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 4:00-5:30pm at the Freedom Library, Creative Cafe. All ages & skill levels welcome. These classes will be facilitated in English.

Join us for some fun while helping your child build socialization and early literacy skills ~ our Bilingual Baby Laptime will take place in-person at the Freedom Library, Meeting Room on Wednesdays at 10:30am, and at Main Library, Meeting Room on Fridays at 10:30am.

Our Bilingual Toddler Storytime features fun songs, rhymes and books that foster early literacy ~ this program takes place at the Freedom Branch on Wednesdays at 11:30am, and at the Main Library, Storytime Room at 10:30am.

Interested in learning about nutrition and wellness? Community Health Trust of Pajaro Valley will be hosting nutrition and physical well-being classes for our community. Nutrition experts will share their knowledge about the importance of balanced eating, the role of nutrients in maintaining health, and practical tips for making nutritious choices in your daily diet. Topics that will be covered include (but are not limited to): fiber, low sodium, balanced meals, etc. The intended audience for this program is patrons of all ages. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste and enjoy delicious food.
