Over the holiday weekend, we were made aware of fake parking warning notices placed on cars on Clifford Avenue.
It’s important to note that our Parking Enforcement Officers do not issue the green notice seen on the top right of this photo. WPD parking warning notices are actually orange in color and include contact information.
Here is the process taken by the Watsonville Police Parking Enforcement Unit when issuing a parking warning:
- Residents make a report of abandoned vehicles or a parking issue
- Dispatch assigns a unit
- Unit arrives on scene and verifies the vehicle
- Abandoned vehicles will be given a 72-hour parking warning orange flyer advising the owner to move the car to avoid towing
A vehicle can be towed without a 72-hour warning if the vehicle meets the following:
- Missing engine
- Missing transmission
- Missing wheels
- Leaking oil
- Unsafe to be on the street

Durante el fin de semana festivo, nos enteramos de avisos de advertencia de estacionamiento falsos colocados en automóviles en Clifford Avenue.
Es importante tener en cuenta que nuestros oficiales de tránsito no emiten el aviso verde que se ve en la parte superior derecha de esta foto. Los avisos de advertencia de estacionamiento del WPD son en realidad de color naranja e incluyen información de contacto.
Este es el proceso que sigue la Unidad de tránsito de la Policía de Watsonville al emitir una advertencia de estacionamiento:
- Vecinos hacen reporte de vehículos abandonados o problema de estacionamiento
- El despacho asigna una unidad
- Unidad llega al lugar y verifica el vehículo.
- Los vehículos abandonados recibirán un volante naranja de advertencia de estacionamiento durante 72 horas que aconsejará al propietario que mueva el automóvil para evitar ser remolcado.
Un vehículo puede ser remolcado sin previo aviso de 72 horas si el vehículo cumple con lo siguiente:
- Falta de motor
- Falta de transmisión
- Llantas faltantes
- Fugas de aceite
- No es seguro que el vehículo este en la calle
