Caltrans will begin shoulder and sidewalk closures along Main Street (Highway 152) between Clifford Avenue and South Green Valley Road starting this week.
This work, located near the Struve Slough and the Watsonville Square Shopping Center, is part of the Struve Slough Emergency Sidewalk Repair Project and aims to improve pedestrian access and safety along Main Street.
The Caltrans closures are scheduled to start tomorrow, November 5, with construction expected to wrap up by July 2026. Crews are scheduled to work from 9AM to 3PM. Two-way traffic will remain open with some delays expected. Pedestrians and bicyclists will need to follow detours around the sidewalk closures.
The $5.09 million Caltrans project includes excavation, placement of lightweight fill, paving, new sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and drainage improvements.
