A second round of improvements to Green Valley Road is scheduled to begin next Monday, March 17, if weather permits.

The overall project is expected to last through the summer and will take place on Green Valley Road from Carey Avenue to Thicket Lane (City limits).

These improvements are estimated to cost around $3.1 million and will be funded, in part, by the County’s Measure D Transportation Tax, State Gas Tax, and grant funding from the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission.

The work will include:

  • Rehabilitating cracked and damaged road surface
  • Replacing non-ADA-compliant curb ramps
  • Installing bike lanes (class II)
  • Upgrading traffic signage to meet reflectivity standards
  • Installing new traffic striping and markings

Drivers can expect delays during construction. Please use Airport Boulevard as a detour.
