During last night’s special city council meeting, Watsonville City Council unanimously approved contributing $270,000 to help the Pajaro Valley Healthcare District Project (PVHDP) purchase the Watsonville Community Hospital.
In a matter of months, major steps have been taken to purchase WCH out of bankruptcy and place it back into community ownership through the creation of the new health care district (PVHDP).
The goal is to raise $67 million dollars before August 31 to close on the sale. However, more than $5 million is still needed.
To date, the City of Watsonville has contributed a total of $400,000 to help keep WCH open, serving our community. The council calls on all partners, businesses, and entities able to step forward and join the many who have already donated to save this important community asset.

Durante la reunión especial del concilio municipal de anoche, el Concilio Municipal de Watsonville aprobó por unanimidad contribuir $270.000 para ayudar al Proyecto del Distrito de Salud del Valle de Pájaro (PVHDP por sus siglas en inglés) a comprar el Hospital Comunitario de Watsonville.
En cuestión de meses, se han tomado medidas importantes para sacar al hospital de la bancarrota y devolverlo a la comunidad mediante la creación del nuevo distrito de atención médica (PVHDP).
La meta es recaudar $67 millones de dólares antes del 31 de agosto para cerrar la venta. Sin embargo, aún se necesitan más de $5 millones.
Hasta la fecha, la Ciudad de Watsonville ha contribuido con un total de $400.000 para ayudar a mantener al hospital abierto, sirviendo a nuestra comunidad.
